After graduating from Stanford University with degrees in Urban Studies and Sociology, Samuel's first job post-college was working as an employee of Gospel Books in Mountain View, California.  During that time the Holy Spirit led Samuel in a personalized spiritual training course as he read over 100 books from the Christian bookstore.  At the end of that season Samuel moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and was launched into full time ministry in 2004.  Samuel established Light Amp Ministries at that time, focusing on prayer, music, equipping, and missions.  Samuel has served in youth, worship, prophetic, healing, street outreach, and teaching ministries.  He has been a short-term missionary to the Philippines, Taiwan, China, and Iceland.

In 2011 Samuel met Ammi at a young adult house church in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China, while he was ministering there as a guest speaker and worship leader.  Ammi's spiritual upbringing was rooted in the Henan Province Holy Spirit outpouring of the 1980's and 90's. After a year of courtship, Samuel and Ammi were married in Xi'an, China, in the Spring of 2012.  Later that summer they arrived in the US to study at Bethany Bible Training Center.  Upon completion of their Bible Studies Program, they went back to China, and Samuel continued his ministry in the house churches across the land.  In 2013 their son Johnny was born in Guangzhou.  A couple years later they returned as a family to America and dwelled in the Pacific Northwest.  Today Samuel and Ammi resides in Fountain Inn, South Carolina with their three children--Johnny, Zoey, and Tiffany.  They minister locally and internationally with a focus on East Asia.

Samuel and Ammi are pastors ordained by Christian Fellowship Revival Center in Aberdeen, WA.  Samuel is also a licensed minister with Renaissance Coalition.  Musically, Samuel is a vocalist, songwriter, and electric violinist with 4 instrumental worship music albums.
